Structural racism and anti-Blackness impacts not only our lives but also our bodies and nervous systems. Many Black people people have never had safe spaces to process racial trauma.
𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 is a body-centered workshop inviting participants to slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and listen to the wisdom within. Through movement and stillness, we explore awareness, emotion, and connection.
Embodiment becomes a radical practice of racial wellness—reclaiming rest, intuition, and care beyond the pressures of productivity.
𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨 is an independent clinical psychologist, behavioural therapist, speaker, and space creator working under the name 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐢 – meaning “talk to me” in her mother tongue, Swahili. As a Black psychologist, her work centers on the intersection of mental health and social justice. Brenda primarily supports individuals who are systemically marginalized and consciously works from a contextual, creative, and culturally responsive therapeutic approach. As an antidote to the strongly cognitive frameworks of care in which she was trained, she founded Healing Movements – a creative therapeutic approach that integrates talk therapy with body-based practices, rooted in holistic care, cultural awareness, and collective healing. In 2025, she appeared in the third season of the VRT television program Therapie. Brenda regularly gives workshops and talks on the impact of racism on mental well-being, as well as on diversity and inclusion.
